Fares vary by travel date, service, seat type and availability.

For Tokyo → Sendai, distinguish the Tokyo stop and Sendai East/West/Hirose-dori arrival points

“Sendai Station” is not enough detail for this route. Depending on the service, you may use Sendai Station East Exit, West Exit, or Miyagi Kotsu’s Sendai Highway Bus Center at Stop 40 on Hirose-dori.

Tokyo: departure points differ between services

Yaesu

Bus Terminal Tokyo Yaesu

Current WILLER search results include Tokyo Yaesu departures for Sendai. The terminal has waiting, women’s restrooms, lockers and convenience stores.

Shinjuku

Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal

A major Sendai-route hub with waiting, information, lockers and free Wi‑Fi, useful before an overnight departure.

Other

Some services use Otemachi, TDR or other stops

Booking results can show other Tokyo-area boarding points. Use the exact stop name and map for your booked service, not just “Tokyo.”

Sendai: the arrival point can be East, West or Hirose-dori

East

Sendai Station East Exit

Current booking results show services arriving at Sendai Station East Exit. This can be convenient depending on your hotel and onward rail route.

West

Sendai Station West Exit

Some overnight services arrive at the West Exit. For an early arrival, check the route to your hotel and where you can wait before facilities open.

Hirose-dori

Miyagi Kotsu Sendai Highway Bus Center / Stop 40

Miyagi Kotsu’s “Sendai Station-mae Stop 40” is at its highway bus center on Hirose-dori. Do not assume it is inside Sendai Station or the station-front bus pool.

Three Sendai-specific checks

Women

Ladies-seat services are currently visible

As checked on Sep 22, 2026, WILLER’s Tokyo → Sendai results showed both daytime and overnight services with a “Ladies seat policy.” Recheck availability for your date.

Road/weather

Build a buffer after arrival

Highway buses can be delayed by traffic and bad weather. Leave enough time before a fixed Shinkansen, event or appointment after arrival.

Operations

Check current suspension/operation notices

Miyagi Kotsu says its own Hirose Liner operation has been suspended from Sep 1, 2026 for the time being, while Keio Bus service continues. Operating status can change, so recheck before travel.

The single biggest navigation tip is to distinguish Sendai East Exit, West Exit and Stop 40 on Hirose-dori. Recheck the map in your booking confirmation on the day of travel.

What matters most on Tokyo → Sendai

Price matters, but so do the exact Tokyo stop, the Sendai drop-off point and road/seasonal conditions.

Price

Open Rakuten Travel to check the current fare and seat availability for your actual travel date, then compare the exact stops and facilities you need.

Exact boarding point

Tokyo departures can use Yaesu, Shinjuku or other stops; Sendai arrivals can also vary by service. Check the map in your booking details.

Luggage

Confirm trunk availability and baggage limits for the specific bus. Do not assume every vehicle accepts a large suitcase.

Booking & cancellation

Check payment and cancellation terms, and leave time for road or weather delays before any fixed activity after arrival.

After arrival in Sendai

Miyagi Kotsu’s Sendai Highway Bus Center is by the Hirose-dori No. 40 bus stop, not simply “inside Sendai Station.” Your service may use another stop, so verify the exact drop-off and onward route.

For international visitors

The key is to save the exact Sendai stop: buses may use the east side, west side, or another nearby terminal rather than one universal “Sendai Station” stop.

Save the exact Sendai arrival name

Services in the Tokyo–Sendai market use more than one Sendai-side boarding/alighting point. Keep the Japanese stop name from your booking so you can match signs after arrival.

English sightseeing transport information is available after arrival

Loople Sendai has an English site and connects Sendai Station with major sightseeing areas, which is useful if your next step is tourism rather than a rail transfer.

For overnight services, check both time and date

Some booking sites use 24+ hour notation for departures after midnight. Confirm the actual calendar date, especially when your trip begins late at night.

Traveling with babies & children

Check the operator’s child-fare rule, baby facilities in Tokyo and what you can use around Sendai Station after arrival.

Child fare & seat

Rules differ by operator. WILLER publishes an English child/infant policy; other operators may use different rules, so confirm the company running your service before booking.

Tokyo baby facilities

Busta Shinjuku has a nursing room with hot water and baby-changing facilities. Bus Terminal Tokyo Yaesu also provides nursing rooms and multipurpose restrooms.

After arrival in Sendai

The Sendai Station area has family facilities such as nursing and baby-changing spaces. Check the latest station/adjacent-facility information before travel because locations and hours can change.

Stroller

Stroller rules vary by operator and vehicle. Confirm whether it must be folded and whether it can be stored in the luggage compartment.

Winter & time buffer

Winter weather and road conditions can affect arrival time. With children, leave extra margin before any fixed appointment after the bus.

For women travelers

Check women-oriented seat options together with the Tokyo waiting environment and your route after an early Sendai arrival.

Women-oriented seat options

As checked on Sep 22, 2026, WILLER’s Tokyo → Sendai results showed daytime and overnight services with a “Ladies seat policy.” Check again when booking.

Waiting in Tokyo

Major Yaesu/Shinjuku terminals provide women’s restrooms, waiting and lockers. Confirm which exact facility your bus uses.

Exact Sendai drop-off

East Exit, West Exit and Hirose-dori Stop 40 are different places. For an early arrival, the route to your hotel or station matters.

Onboard facilities

Toilet, charging and seat type vary by departure. Filter for the facilities you need together with any ladies-seat preference.

Weather / operation status

Tohoku services can be affected by weather and road conditions. Check the latest operating information before a night or early-morning trip.
